Dan and Marilynn have now returned from their trip to the Marquesa & Christmas Islands. Check the

NEWS UPDATE: September 17, 2007 - Dan has now visited every sovereign country in the world.
Currently he has visited 309 out of a possible 317 places, or approximately 97.5% of the world.

Rolls Around the World
June 2007
Dan has returned from his trip where he drove his "1957 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I"
around the world. He began the trip in Victoria, Canada and drove to
Montreal, where the car was shipped to England. While the
car is being transported, he traveled to Greenland. Once the car had
arrived in England transported it to France via the Chunnel. From
France he traveled through Europe to Moscow, across to Siberia, down through
Mongolia, Beijing and Shanghai, before returning to Victoria, Canada.

Tuesday, November 14, 2006: Dan arrived in Syria, completing his 300th Country/Place.
Dan has now visited 300 out of a possible 317 (95%) countries/places as defined by the
Travelers' Century Club. Congratulation Dan!

North Africa & Middle East
October 2006
Dan has returned from North Africa and Middle East trip, which included Western Sahara, Libya, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon,
Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of Abu Dhabi,
Ajman, Fujeirah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Qaiwain and Sharjah.
South Africa & Indian Ocean
January 2006
Dan has returned from his South Africa and Indian Ocean Trip. It included a 17-day
trip on the Shongololo Southern Cross Train Safari arranged by Wild African Ventures Inc. He started in South
Africa, and then travel to Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia. From there he flew to Malawi
and on to the islands of Comoros, Reunion, Rodriguez and Mauritius. From Mauritius he flew to New Delhi to
spend a week on the Palace Train, reputedly the most luxurious train in the world. Then he went on to Cochin
and the Lakshadweep Islands, Sri Lanka, Chennai (formerly Madras), the Andaman Islands and home via Hong Kong.
Himalayas & China
September 2005
Dan has returned from his trip to the Himalayas and China. The trip included traveling overland from
Kabul Afghanistan through the Khyber Pass to Pakistan, over the Himalayas through the
Khunjerab pass into China, through Western and Northern China, back into
the Himalayas to Lhasa, Tibet and Kathmandu, Nepal. From there he will
travel through Sikkim and West Bengal, India, into Bhutan and then to
Dhaka, Bangladesh via Calcutta and on to Kuala Lumpur, Sumatra and Bali,
Indonesia.
South Pacific
October 2004
Dan has returned from his trip through the South Pacific.
The trip included Majuro, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Papua New
Guinea, Australia, East Timor, Bali, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling)
Islands, Lord Howe Island, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, New Zealand and Samoa.
Middle East and SouthWest Asia
September 2003
Dan has returned from his trip through the Middle East and SouthWest Asia.
The trip included Italy (including Lampadusa Island), Turkey, Azerbaijan,
Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan,
Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Serbia and Switzerland.
Asia Pacific
April 2003
Dan has returned from his Asia Pacific trip, where he visited Hawaii,
Johnston Island, Guam, Saipan, Palau, Philippines, Hong Kong,
Hainan Island, Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea,
Japan including Ogasawara and Okinawa.
New Zealand and the South Pacific
October 2002
Dan has returned from his adventures in the South Pacific. The trip included New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Chatham Island,
Pitcairn Islands, Easter Island as well as several other South Pacific Islands.
One of the stops on this journey was Easter Island.
Easter Island
is over 2,000 miles from the nearest population center, (Tahiti and Chile),
making it one of the most isolated places on Earth. See "Travel Journal" for details.
Andés Mountains and Amazon River
April 2002
Dan has returned from his Amazon trip, where he visited several spots
in the Andés mountains (including Machu Pichu, Peru) and traveling by
boat from the Amazon headwaters to Atlantic Ocean. See "Travel Journal" for details.
Central Africa Conquered!
November 2001
Dan's trip through Central Africa included Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Gabon,
Sao Tome & Principe, Cameroon, Equitorial Guinea, Nigeria, Chad, Ethiopia,
Uganda, Rawanda, Burundi, Somalia, British Somalia, Djibouti and Eritrea.
